For Arizonians, the best excuse to get out of town is the heat. Likewise, the best holiday weekend to take that trip is definitely the fourth of July. We researched and checked and came up with, what we think, are the Flagstaff fourth of July ParadeTop 5 Best Places to Spend 4th of July weekend in northern Arizona.

1) Flagstaff
Named “America’s best town for Fourth of July” in 2014 by Travel and Leisure magazine, you know you can expect a killer firework show and celebration that follow–as if cool temps and beautiful scenery aren’t reasons enough to pack your bags and head out on a road-trip with the fam. Flagstaff throws a memorable, old-fashioned Fourth of July Parade and celebration in their Historic Downtown.

2) Sedona
Spread out on plush, cool grass nestled between remarkable red sandstone Sedonaformations as you and your family watch electric neon lights contrast the black Sedona Sky this fourth of July. I’m in! Sedona tops our list as the second best place to spend your fourth of July because, well, it’s Sedona; anything Sedona does gets extra points because, you guessed it, it’s Sedona. It definitely helps that the City of Sedona promises to put on a hellova show with live “up-beat” music, food and an all around good vibes kind of party.

Williams Historic Route 66 Celebrating the independence of our great country, Williams puts on a  monumental parade along historic Rout 66; it doesn’t get more American  than that. The parade is said to be the longest running parade in  Northern Arizona.

5) Payson
Guarantee a cool, fun Independence Day for all at Payson’s “4th of July Hometown Celebration.” Payson puts a lotPayson Fourth of July into this annual ALL-DAY jamboree kicking off the day with a patriotic ceremony honoring all who serve and have served. Live music covers all-American legacy’s Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and Johnny Cash just to name a few. A schedule of events outlines the events to follow (see like below). Free to the public, enjoy live music, bounce-houses, great food vendors, beautiful scenery, games, prizes and fireworks!!
