Top 5 July 4 Celebrations Worth the Trip
Saturday, July 4, 2015
For Arizonians, the best excuse to get out of town is the heat. Likewise, the best holiday weekend to take that trip is definitely the fourth of July. We researched and checked and came up with, what we think, are the Top 5 Best Places to Spend 4th of July weekend in northern Arizona.
1) Flagstaff
Named “America’s best town for Fourth of July” in 2014 by Travel and Leisure magazine, you know you can expect a killer firework show and celebration that follow–as if cool temps and beautiful scenery aren’t reasons enough to pack your bags and head out on a road-trip with the fam. Flagstaff throws a memorable, old-fashioned Fourth of July Parade and celebration in their Historic Downtown.
Parade begins at Beaver St. and Elm Ave, 9 am – Noon, 928-774-4505

2) Sedona
Spread out on plush, cool grass nestled between remarkable red sandstone formations as you and your family watch electric neon lights contrast the black Sedona Sky this fourth of July. I’m in! Sedona tops our list as the second best place to spend your fourth of July because, well, it’s Sedona; anything Sedona does gets extra points because, you guessed it, it’s Sedona. It definitely helps that the City of Sedona promises to put on a hellova show with live “up-beat” music, food and an all around good vibes kind of party.
Red Rock High School’s baseball field from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Officers will be directing traffic, guests are advised to arrive early for parking. 928-282-7098

firework display sound fun to you? Yeah, us too; that’s why Prescott is our number three best place to spend fourth of July in Arizona. This event is free to enter, but, of course, if you want to ride rides and play games you’ll want to bring some moola. Great food, arts-and-crafts and live entertainment assure a spectacular, fun-filled Independence Day weekend for your whole family. Wristbands are available pre-sale for $12 and $15 at the gate.
